Toddler Left in Hot Car For Hours While Mom Went to Job Interview in China

A 3-year-old girl who was left locked inside a car in China was fortunately saved by police officers who heard her crying.

According to South China Morning Post, the incident occurred in Zhejiang Province where police forced their way inside a car to save a little girl who was left inside because her mother had to attend a job interview at a nearby office building. Believing that she wouldn’t take long, she decided to leave her 3-year-old inside the car despite the scorching heat of the sun.

However, the interview took longer than she anticipated, leaving her daughter trapped inside the vehicle for several hours. When the officers rescued the child, they said that she was sweating and almost dehydrated.

They managed to contact the girl’s father after running a scan of the car’s plate number.

The child’s mother returned after lunch and felt so guilty about what happened. The police didn’t charge her but reminded parents about the dangers of leaving a child inside the car especially under the sweltering heat of the sun.

Though many felt bad about what happened to the child, there were internet users who sympathized with the mother pointing out the difficulties of having to multitask.

“If she brought the child with her, she would be afraid to look bad at the interview, but not bringing her would be dangerous. Can only say that this situation is not easy,” an online user said.
