On June 14, 2017, the Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, west London caught on fire. It was a tragic day  for the world but thankfully unlikely heroes rushed to help those who couldn’t save themselves. A young man and his mother have miraculously escaped the Grenfell tower fire, as the son fought his way right from the top of the burning tower block all the way down the stairs to the bottom. Shekeb Neda, 24, carried Flora, 55, on his back through smoke down the staircase. He recently graduated from Kingston university with a degree in mechanical engineering. His parents are from Afghanistan. farhad As the flames began marching toward their flat, 22-year-old Farhad Neda carried his ailing mother down 24 flights of stairs on his back. His mother, 55-year-old Shakila Neda, has a muscular disorder that leaves her constantly weakened and all but totally disabled… Farhad knew it was up to him to save her. The flames started to reach their apartment, knowing his mother wouldn’t make it since she has a muscular disorder that leaves her constantly weakened and all but totally disabled, Farhad has to act quickly, so he carried his sick mother down all the stairs on his back – sprinting the whole way! Fahim Muzhary, 62, whose son is a friend of Farhad, told The Sun, “Farhad needed to get her out quickly. He took her arms, put them around his neck and carried her over his back down all 24 floors.” farhad2 “He sprinted with her down the stairs the whole way. I just don’t know how he did it. He must have summoned the strength somehow in the moment. [nextpage title="NEXT PAGE"] “With all the smoke and the flames it really is unbelievable.” A cousin told the tabloid: “Shekeb is  the most loving and caring man — a strong young boy who loves his family more than anything. “He did what any son would do and he got his mother to safety. We do not know where Saber is. We hope he is alive.” farhad3 The father of the family, Mohammed ‘Saber’ Neda, remained in the flat and is missing. The 57-year-old was last heard from at 2.20am when he made a frantic phone call to a relative to say that the building was burning and that there was “no help”. His family and friends hope and pray that he is alive and continue to hold hope that he will resurface. Both Farhad and his mother were taken to Chelsea and Westminster hospital in critical condition after their ordeal. According to CNN, 79 people lost their lives in this tragedy.
