This NBA team's female esports players are living the gamer dream
Last September, the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers made headlines when it became the first major U.S. sports franchise to acquire and operate an esports team: Team Dignitas. Dignitas consists of multiple teams across several titles, including an all-female Counter-Strike squad, one of only a handful in the world.
Dignitas players are salaried and have full access to the 76ers' training facility, coaches, and support staff. Physical training, coaching sessions, chef-prepared meals, and a full practice setup are just some of the benefits the players receive while preparing for tournaments. Read more...
