Good morning! Here's the technology news you need to know to start off the week.

1. A bombshell letter claims that Uber hacked into competitors' networks and wiretapped people at a hotel. The letter was written by a lawyer for a former Uber employee, who claims he was "unlawfully demoted" and later fired by the company.

2. Samsung will release the successor to the Galaxy S8 earlier than expected. Samsung's successor to the Galaxy S8 is said to be called the Galaxy S9, and it could be announced in late February.

3. Senate Democrats plan to force a vote in Congress over the FCC's repeal of net neutrality. Senator Charles Schumer said he would force a vote, but many Republicans are in favour of the repeal.

4. Google is shutting down its ambitious project to reinvent smartphone cameras. Google Tango, which let developers build immersive camera-based apps for Android, will close in March.

5. Luxembourg doesn't want to claim €250 million (£221 million) from Amazon in back taxes. The European Commission ruled on October 4 that the small EU nation had given illegal state aid to Amazon.

6. Apple is making a new space TV series with the screenwriter known for "Battlestar Galactica" and "Star Trek." Ronald D. Moore is working on a series that "explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended."

7. A new patent filing by Microsoft gives another hint that the company is working on a folding phone. The filing shows a hinged device that looks like a book.

8. You can finally listen to podcasts on your Apple Watch without having an iPhone around. Two third-party developers recently released apps that don't need an iPhone around to listen to podcasts.

9. Total investment on crowdfunding platform Seedrs has passed £300 million. Notable funding rounds over the platform include digital banking app Revolut raising £3.8 million and Dutch trading app Bux raising €1.4 million (£1.2 million).

10. Tesla is prohibiting commercial drivers from using its Supercharger stations. It released a policy called Supercharger Fair Use that says commercial drivers won't be allowed to use the stations.
