Tap in to the Power of Testimonials – New Small Group Training
I was writing the promotional copy for one of my online courses when my son, Josh, popped in to my office.
“Watcha doin’?”
“Putting together some testimonials from clients to publicize my course.”
“Is Jane Austen still alive? You should put, ‘Endorsed by Jane Austen’ in your sales copy. And ‘Endorsed by William Shakespeare.’”
While I got a good chuckle out of Josh’s suggestions, testimonials from Jane and Will probably wouldn’t fly, particularly for a training program that teaches people how to hire an ethical website vendor.
But Josh was on the right track. Endorsements from “big name” people, when properly positioned in your promotional materials, can make or break the sale of your product, service, or program.
In fact, testimonials from “small name” people also do the trick.
Word-of-mouth is an incredibly powerful marketing tool; it carries much more weight than paid advertising.
