Logan Paul May Get Sued By Fashion Brand For Association With ‘racist, anti-Asian’ Sentiments

A clothing brand is threatening to file a lawsuit against YouTube’s 22-year-old YouTuber Logan Paul for allegedly hijacking and damaging their good name, calling his recent acts “repulsive, abhorrent and mutton-headed.”

According to TheWrap, Maverick Apparel LLC is demanding that Paul stop using the “Maverick” name for his own brand. The company, founded in 2005, would like to make it clear that it has no affiliation with “Maverick by Logan Paul” merchandise. Lawyers of the New York-based fashion company reportedly sent a cease-and-desist letter to Paul on Thursday for trademark infringement, among others.

“Maverick Apparel did not cater for its name being hijacked, in full, by a vlogger catering to his evident lowest common denominator narcissism and who champions his scrotal injuries as a badge of pride in his quest of making a historical record of inanity,” the letter obtained by TheWrap.

“Over these past months, Maverick Apparel has noticed a rapid and significant decline in its sales, reputation, and goodwill of the Maverick Apparel brand as a direct result of your repulsive, abhorrent and mutton-headed conduct. In choosing to promulgate yourself and your maw-wallop across social media and champion yourself as an object of ridicule, hatred, and contempt, you have simultaneously infected and injured the good name of Maverick Apparel.”

“Logan Paul […] has become synonymous with racist, anti-Asian, and homophobic sentiments, and most recently, a belligerent insensitivity to suicide,” the letter continued.

The letter was sent to Paul, his counsel, Maverick Media of Beverly Hills, and even YouTube chief executive officer Susan Wojcicki. In addition to Paul dropping the use of the “Maverick” name, the letter also sought information on revenue generated from the “Maverick by Logan Paul” brand as well as advertising revenue from the recent video shot in Japan.

According to WWD, the company asserted that it suffered a $4 million loss in profits over the incident and gave Paul seven days to act on the requests or it will pursue legal action.

Paul, whose recent attempt to leave a “positive ripple on the internet” did not go as planned, has announced that he is taking a break from vlogging on the video-sharing site. As of press time, his disgusting YouTube channel still exists, gaining even more followers, and earning thousands of dollars daily in revenue
