Singaporean Gang Leader Faces 20 Years in Jail For Alleged Rape of Teen, Taking Nude Photos

Koh Rong Guang, the 25-year-old leader of a now-disbanded youth gang, recently denied the accusation that he raped a 13-year-old girl between November 2013 and January 2014 during his trial on January 23.

The salesman, who also goes by the name of Charles, told the High Court on Tuesday that he “did not touch” the teenager when giving his own account of the event, according to The Straits Times.

Koh claims that the girl, who is now 17 years old, made up the life-ruining allegation so he’d get in serious trouble after he uploaded her pictures online in provocative poses with Koh’s “best bro”, 20-year-old Fu Yiming.

Koh’s intended to humiliate Fu when the latter ratted Koh out to the police in a rioting case, according to reports. Fu also said that the 25-year-old gang leader ordered someone to upload the photos, which later went viral.

It was said that the teenager made the official police report in July 2014, at the time when the photo started trending on social media.

While he may be the one responsible in uploading the picture, he strongly denied that he was the one who took it, claiming that the photos seemed to be taken with a self-timer. Koh told the court that he was not at the scene when it happened, and further added that Fu was the one who showed and sent the photos to him.

However, in Fu’s testimony on January 17, Koh took a few pictures of both the girl and Fu in compromising positions as some sort of assurance that the victim will not say anything to the authorities, Today Online reported.

Another allegation that Koh denied is the accusation of raping the girl on one occasion sometime in 2013. The man continued to detail that his then pregnant girlfriend confronted the girl, whom Koh described as a “stranger” and “slut” for trying to get close to Fu, who already had a girlfriend.

Koh’s then-girlfriend, now his estranged wife, reportedly slapped the teenager, who then cried and left.

Deputy Public Prosecutor David Khoo cited the messages that Koh and Fu exchanged in the lead-up to one incident where the former told the latter: “whatever I want (to) do to her you cannot interrupt.”

The message that Khoo showed in court seemed to indicate that Koh had intended to have sex with the young woman. Furthermore, Fu and two other young members gave their support to the girl’s claim, stating that the 25-year-old salesman wanted to get his way with her.

However, Koh rebuked the accusation and denied everything. When asked by the prosecutors if the four agreed to say the same thing beforehand, the man said: “Yes. This is what we did in the rioting case.”

Koh is now facing 12 charges, including four charges of statutory rape, one of sexual assault by penetration, three of criminal intimidation, two of committing an indecent act with a young person, one of circulating a nude picture of a girl, and another one of causing harm. he now faces up to 20 years in prison and 12 strokes of the cane.
