What's new on Netflix Australia for May 2018

As the number of shows and movies available to stream in Australia continues to grow at an impressive rate, it can be tough to keep up with all the new additions to each streaming service each month.

The Toys That Made Us: Season 2 (25/5/2018)

The first part of The Toys That Made Us was a surprise hit, and now the new season will feature in depth stories behind the creation of Star Trek, Transformers, LEGO and Hello Kitty toys and collectibles.

The Rain: Season 1 (4/5/2018) 

In this Scandinavian thriller, a devastating virus wipes out almost the entire population, leaving two young siblings to embark on a perilous search for safety. Chilling stuff!

Based on the true adventures of British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett (played here with smouldering intensity by Charlie Hunnam), who vanished from the face of the Earth while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon in the 1920s.

One of director David Lynch's most celebrated and mind-bending movies, the film sees an amnesiac woman (Laura Elena Harring) stranded on Mulholland Drive is taken in by an aspiring actress (Naomi Watts) who’s moved to Hollywood to pursue her dreams in this surreal, complex tale. 

Annabelle 2 (8/5/2018) 

A prequel to both Annabelle and The Conjuring, Annabelle 2 explores origin of the deadly doll that has terrified families for generations. After the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker (Anthony LaPaglia) and his wife (Miranda Otto) welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, where they soon become the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle.

Marvel's Luke Cage: Season 2 (22/6/2018)

Little is known about the second season of Marvel's Luke Cage, other than the hero for hire will be joined by Iron Fist. Whether this polarising character will be welcome on the show remains to be seen, however, fans of the comics will know that Luke Cage and Iron Fist are one of the most iconic duos in the Marvel universe.
