Brutal Robbery Leaves Teen in Malaysia With Knife Stuck in Her Face
A brutal attack by a thief in Malaysia left a young female shop assistant covered in blood with a knife stuck in her face.
The unnamed 19-year-old victim was reportedly on her way home from work when she was attacked by a robber down a dark alley in Bukit Tengah, Malaysia, at around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to local reports, the girl resisted when a man suddenly grabbed her handbag. In the ensuing scuffle with the victim, the knife-wielding thief plunged his blade into the woman’s face. He then fled the scene, carrying the teenager’s valuables.
A video footage that emerged online shows passersby assisting the girl who still had the weapon sticking out just below her right eye.
“The victim was struggling with the man who had stolen her valuables. The man stabbed the victim’s face with a knife then ran away with it still stuck there,” a source privy to the case told local media. “He escaped and the woman was covered in blood. She was helped by members of the public.”
She was immediately rushed to Bukit Mertajam hospital where she is now recovering from her injuries, MailOnline reports.
According to Seberang Perai Central District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid, they are currently on the lookout for a suspect described by the victim as a “well-built man.”
“The victim, who is from Chai Leng Park in Perai, sustained injuries to her abdomen and neck,” Chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Hamid was quoted as saying. “Her right cheek was also badly injured after the robber stabbed her with a knife.”
“A check at the scene showed that although the car park is located behind a commercial center, there are street lights at the scene,” he added.
Authorities are now collecting the CCTV recordings near the scene and looking for eyewitnesses to help in their investigation.
