Pikotaro Instantly Calms Crying Newborn Daughter By Playing His Famous ‘Pineapple Pen’ Song

Pikotaro, the Japanese comedian who birthed the viral song “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen” (PPAP), is now a new dad and he’s a learning a thing or two about how to stop a baby from crying.

The 44-year-old artist, whose real name is Kazuhito Kosaka but is sometimes known by his stage name Daimaou Kosaka, just welcomed his daughter with 30-year-old swimsuit model Hitomi Yasueda on Father’s Day, June 17.

Today is Father’s Day, which is an often overlooked occasion compared to Mother’s Day. But my daughter has given me the world’s best present,” he wrote in his Twitter post, as translated by Asia One.

Most new parents know it’s almost impossible to soothe a crying newborn baby, but Pikotaro actually discovered a way for this – and even make them fall asleep much faster.

In the video he posted on June 18, he can be seen sitting beside his crying newborn daughter. And, as an experiment, he decided to play his incredibly viral PPAP song. To much everyone’s surprise, the baby stopped crying and by the looks of it, she even fell asleep.

Who would have thought a song like PPAP would have such power?
