6-Year-Old Drummer Donates All His YouTube Money to Help Disaster-Affected Areas in Japan

Torataro, a 6-year-old drummer prodigy from Japan, donated all of his YouTube revenue so far to the people affected by the extreme torrential rains that hit western Japan last month.

The child drummer announced he would donate all of the income from his YouTube videos to those who were affected by the terrible weather in a video that showed him playing the viral hit song “Baby Shark” at 2x speed on July 15.

“Hello everyone in the world. My name is Torataro and I play the drums of ‘Baby Shark.’ I’m 6 years old,” the young drummer said in the opening of the video.

“Now, Hiroshima where I live and the surrounding areas have suffered serious damage due to the heavy rain. I’m safe, but there are people around who need help. This site represents my money. I decided to donate all of my YouTube revenue so far,” he continued.

Torataro’s latest video, in which he performs a concert at a nursery school, has gone viral on Twitter with over 3.26 million views. It also has been retweeted over 46,000 times and liked by more than 140,000 netizens.

The young drummer started playing the percussion instrument when he was only 3 years old, according to SoraNews24.

At age 4, he played alongside a mascot called Nyango Star. Torataro also did his part at a Disaster Volunteer Center.
