Fujifilm Unveils the XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR Lens

Fujifilm has announced the new XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR, a wide-angle prime lens for APS-C sensors that’s the equivalent to a 24mm lens in 35mm terms.

The weather-and-dust-resistant lens features an internal focusing system and a stepping motor that provide fast and quiet autofocusing.

Features of the lens include edge-to-edge sharpness, a minimum focusing distance of 6.9in (17cm), a 9-bladed rounded aperture, a maximum magnification of 0.13x, 10 elements in 8 groups (including 2 aspherical), a weight of 5.47oz (155g), a length of just 1.79in (45.4mm), a filter size of 49mm, precise click stops, smooth dampening, metal exterior parts, an operating temperature as low as 14°F, and 9 sealed points around the barrel.

The FUJINON XF 16mm f/2.8 will be available in black in March 2019 and silver in May 2019. The price tag will be $400, and preorders begin on February 15th.
