Cambodian Businessman Sponsors Street Kid Who Can Speak 15 Languages to Study in China

The 14-year-old super talented, multilingual Khmer street vendor, Thuch Salik, who can speak 15 languages, is now one step closer to his dream of studying in China and soaking in the Chinese culture thanks to a very generous Cambodian businessman.

Khit Chhern, a businessman based in Cambodia, sponsored Salik’s study in China where he will be attending Hailiang Foreign Language School in Zhejiang province, China, according to Channel News Asia.

On May 12, Chhern made a post on Facebook saying his farewell to the wonder kid as he goes to prepare for his departure to China.

Before they take off to Zhejiang, a photo surfaced showing the boy kneeling in front of the businessman as a way to thanking him for giving him this opportunity to become successful in life, Sinchew reported via World of Buzz.

A video then surfaced on Monday, May 13, showing Salik being welcomed by staff members of the school as well as some of his fellow students at the airport as he arrived in China.

Salik became famous last November when a Malaysian tourist shot a video of him demonstrating his grasp of several languages and dialects including English, Mandarin, Japanese, Thai and French. Since then, he has received tons of praise online and offers like a chance to sing in China and financial aid from the Cambodian Red Cross.
