The trailer for Jennifer Lopez's 'Shotgun Wedding' takes a turn you have to see to believe
The trailer for Shotgun Wedding begins like any other rom-com trailer. Engaged couple Darcy and Tom (Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel) invite their families to their destination wedding. Familial hijinks ensue — uh oh, the groom's mother Carol (Jennifer Coolidge) interrupts Darcy and Tom while they're getting intimate! Oh no, Darcy's hot ex (Lenny Kravitz) arrives by helicopter and looks super cool! Whoops, the whole wedding party gets taken hostage by pirates! Wait, what?
Yes, you heard me correctly. Pirates. Crash. This. Wedding.
Suddenly, Darcy and Tom are fighting for their lives. There are grenades. There are fistfights in full wedding attire. There is a singalong to Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" for some reason. In terms of its insane rom-com twists, this trailer is on par with the teaser for Marry Me (another J-Lo classic).
Come for Lopez, stay for a gun-wielding Coolidge screaming, "Nobody fucks with my family!"
