Bus suddenly catches on fire – bus driver saves all 20 students in the nick of time

A Maryland school bus driver was hailed as a hero after she saved 20 elementary school kids. The bus unexpectedly caught on fire and the driver, identified as Reneita Smith, safely got each and every student off the bus and away from danger.

If you look at the image below, the fire was out of control by the time firefighters arrived.

The mother of two says, “It’s my job to save them.” The mother not only got each and every kid off the bus, but also went in one last time to make sure the bus was vacant. A true heroic action from a very brave mother.

I think it’s amazing to hear about parents who go above and beyond for other peoples’ children. It just really shows us that they care and that they have amazing values as a parent. A wonderful human being inside and out, caring not only for her own children, but also other peoples’ children.

The incredible part about this story was the fact that the bus was burning this whole time. She went inside the burning bus and rescued the children before things got out of hand. The heroic actions from the mother saved multiple parent’s a heartache that would last forever.

After finding out about Reneita Smith’s actions, Fazlul Kabir posted his appreciation on Facebook. “A big THANK YOU to our school bus driver Reneita Smith who just saved 20 elementary school kids from a bus fire that completely destroyed the bus,” Fazlul Kabir posted.

If you look at the image below, you can see how devastating the fire was. It burned everything inside the bus, even shattering the windows next to where the children would be sitting.
