Video: Rod Stewart Pulls His Daughter On Stage To Sing “Forever Young” With Him

Few rock stars have managed to remain so universally loved for as long as Rod Stewart, and while his legions of admirers spans the globe, it is clear that it is the love of his children that matter most to this living legend. In 2014, he performed the classic Bob Dylan song “Forever Young” with his daughter, Ruby, and handed the stage over to her like a father pushing his daughter off to ride a bike for the first time. As it turns out, Ruby has hit the jackpot as parents go, inheriting her mother, Model Kelly Emberg’s grace and beauty, and her dad’s wind pipes. The fourth of Stewart’s eight children with five different women, Ruby is one of four daughters. She is also following in her parents footsteps, pursuing dual careers in modeling and singing. Ruby has appeared as model for Karen Walker and Ultimo, and has worked as a singer, songwriter and performer, even producing the track “What Lola Wants” for a soft drink commercial featuring latin beauty, Sofia Vergara. This past spring she made her music festival premier at Australia’s CMC Rocks music festival as part of a duo featuring Alyssa Bonagura. Although he is a notorious ladies man, having enjoyed many storied relationships with some of the world’s most beautiful women, He is also a devoted father. And while he has been married five times, he has managed to keep his sense of humor, once famously stating “Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house” Stewart began in music in the early 1960’s and rose to fame as a member of The Jeff Beck Group and Faces, with future Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood. All three have shared the same exact haircut since about 1970, and for some reason, it still works on all three of them. His hard work and unique vocal style has brought him a cornucopia of awards and honors, critical and commercial success, and the admiration of generations of fans. He has Grammy awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, over 30 number one hit songs, and two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once as a solo performer in 1994, and once as a member of The Faces in 2012. He has also been Knighted as Sir Roderick David Stewart by the queen of England as is one of the top 20 wealthiest British music performers, a club that no doubt also includes Keith and Mick, and Paul and Ringo. Certainly an exclusive club if we have ever seen one. Sir Rod also is a man of many interests beyond his family and music. He is an avid soccer player and fan, collector of rare sports cars, and builder of model trains. Yup, even a guy as cool as “Rod The Mod”, has a dorky side. Some of his former Paramors include Britt Eklund, Alana Hamilton, Kelly Emberg and Rachel Hunter. Which is also an exclusive club if we have ever seen one. Stewart was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000, and has raised millions of dollars in research monies since, especially for cancers that afflict children. What is your favorite Rod Stewart song? Ours is “Maggie May.” Please tell us here. [nextpage title="Watch the video"] [video_player]
