'Game of Thrones' keeps rolling out Season 7 teasers and zero new footage

If you're in the business of writing and reading the internet, you may have noticed a lot of Game of Thrones promotion — none of which is new footage of Season 7. That footage — any footage — is now officially overdue.

For now, we feed on scraps: From melting ice to a creepy Vine, our HBO overlords seem intent to remind Game of Thrones fans that the show exists and is returning ... without giving us an actual trailer to really get the hype train going.

March 9: Live footage...of melting ice

In March, as anxiety about the Season 7 premiere reached a breaking point (melting point?), HBO planned a promotion to announce the release date. The date would be encased in a block of ice and fans would melt it via Facebook live. The melting was a literal meltdown, but it got us a date announcement...and no new footage. Read more...
