Chinese smartphone makers have in recent times started dominating in the budget and midrange segment in India. With companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and others leading the market in terms of both market share as well as mindshare, customers have a lot of options across different price ranges.

Although the Chinese brands are huge in number in it comes to India, only a few are well accepted by Indian consumers. Brands like Meizu, Nubia, Coolpad are still known by a large chunk of audiences but they are still thriving to get a solid identity on local soil. 

From the entry level to the upper mid-range, for the selfie lovers to those who want raw specs and almost stock Android, there’s something for everyone.

Today we take a look at the top 10 smartphones from Chinese brands in India.

OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5 is undoubtedly one of the best flagship devices of this year. The flagship device from OnePlus comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS on top.

In terms of performance, the OnePlus 5 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB or 8GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The phone comes with a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge support.

In terms of imaging, the OnePlus comes with a dual camera setup on the back. The device comes with a 16MP camera with Sony IMX398 sensor, f/1.7 aperture and EIS. It comes with a secondary 20MP camera at the back with Sony IMX350 sensor and f/2.6 aperture. The secondary 20MP camera is a telephoto lens which captures the images in a portrait mode and creates a bokeh effect. On the front, the OnePlus 5 comes with a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0 µm pixel size and EIS. The OnePlus 5 starts at Rs. 32,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

This budget device from Xiaomi is one of the highest selling device from the company in India. Xiaomi has reportedly sold over 5 million units of the Redmi Note 4 in India in just 6 months. The company sold 1 million units of the Redmi Note 4 in just 45 days of its first sale on January 23. While Xiaomi has not been able to capture the flagship segment, it has had good success in the budget segment with the Redmi and Redmi Note series.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat skinned with MIUI on top. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU, and comes in 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. It comes with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the Redmi Note 4 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 1.12 µm pixel size and dual LED flash, clubbed with a 5MP secondary camera with f/2,0 aperture. The Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery but lacks fast charge support. The device starts at Rs. 9,999.

Coolpad Cool Play 6

Coolpad had launched the Cool Play 6 at event in Dubai on August 20 with a price tag of Rs. 14,999. The device comes with a dual camera setup on the back, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 653 processor and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display and runs on Anrdoid 7.1.1 Nougat with Journey UI on top, with a promised upgrade to Android O. In terms of performance, the device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor, Adreno 510 GPU, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a 4,000mAh battery.

Coming to the camera department, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a dual camera setup. It comes with dual 13MP cameras with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and a dual LED flash along with an 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Moto G5 Plus

The Moto G5 Plus is the successor of the G4 Plus from Lenovo backed Motorola. It comes with a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with some customisations from Motorola. The device starts at Rs. 14,999.

In terms of Performance, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB or 4GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB storage, microSD expansion support, 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charging and a fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the camera department, the device sports a 12MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, dual pixel autofocus and dual LED flash, along with a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Moto G5 Plus

Lenovo K8 Note

The Lenovo K8 Note is another dual camera device in this list. It has been priced starting at Rs. 12,999. The K8 Note comes with a 5.5-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

In terms of performance, the Lenovo K8 Note comes with a Mediatek Helio X23 processor, Mali T880 MP4 GPU, 3GB or 4GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB internal storage, a 4,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging support and Dolby Atmos sound.

Coming to the camera department, it comes with a dual camera setup at the back. The device features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP secondary camera with S5K5E2 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF and dual LED flash along with a 13MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash.

OnePlus 3T

The OnePlus 3T is one of the finest from the house of OnePlus. Despite  the fact that the smartphone has its successor OnePlus 5, it is still selling in good numbers. It is rated as the best value for money smartphones by not just one but majority of reviewers around the globe. 

It comes with a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla glass 4 protection and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Lenovo P2

The Lenovo P2 is another budget device that boasts of a huge battery. It features a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.

In terms of performance, the P2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery with Fast Charge support.

Coming to the camera department, the Lenovo P2 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and a dual LED flash, along with a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. It has been launched in India starting at Rs. 16,999.

Moto G5

The successor of the Moto G4 comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with some minor customisations from Motorola.

It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD expansion, 2,800mAh battery with Fast Charging support and a front mounted speaker.

In terms of imaging, the Moto G5 features a 13MP primary camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash, along with a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. It has been priced at Rs. 11,999.

Honor 8 Pro

The Honor 8 Pro is another camera centric device that comes with a dual camera setup. It features a 5.7-inch quad HD LTPS 2.5D Curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with motion UI 5.1 skinned on top.

In terms of performance, the Honor 8 Pro comes with a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, Mali-G71 MP8 GPU, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, microSD expansion and a 4,000mAh battery with Fast Charge support.

Coming to the camera department, it comes with a dual camera setup with two 12MP sensors. The rear cameras also feature Phase Detection and Laser Autofocus, dual tone dual LED flash and support 4K recording.

OPPO F3 Plus

Oppo F3 Plus is another camera-centric device in this list. The phone, launched earlier this year, features a dual camera setup on the front, which is extremely rare.

The Oppo F3 Plus comes with a big 6-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ColorOS 3.0 on top.

The F3 Plus is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, with an option to expand the internal storage up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Speaking about the cameras, the Oppo F3 Plus features a 16MP f/1.7 rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization. On the front, the F3 Plus features a dual camera setup – 16MP + 8MP sensors with an f/2.0 aperture.
