Man Makes Over $15,000 a Month By Cooking Chinese Food in Morocco

A Chinese man is making good money for cooking traditional food at a Chinese restaurant in Morocco.

Wang Luping, a native of Zhejiang Province in eastern China, earns 100,000 yuan (about $15,500) a month for running his “Great Wall” restaurant.

According to China News, Wang serves Sichuan dishes to Chinese tourists in the country, which only started accepting them without visas in June 2016.

Before the visa-free policy, less than 1,000 Chinese tourists visited Morocco, Wang said.

Now, he estimates a sixfold increase. He opened the restaurant in January as Chinese tourists often find it challenging to adapt to local food.

Fortunately, Wang goes to a local vegetable market first thing every morning to pick out the freshest ingredients.

Wang decorated the restaurant’s interior with Chinese elements, such as couplets, lanterns and old-fashioned wooden armchairs, China Daily noted.

It’s not just about Chinese tourists, however. According to Wang, people in Morocco are also excited about learning Chinese.

Interestingly, there are those who ask him random things about China, which makes him feel good.
