What Trump's tweets after a disaster tell us about his leadership
President Donald Trump wants to look like a caring comforter-in-chief on Twitter, but his own ego can get in the way.
His online compassion can be short-lived or come second to his preferred roles: condemner- and self-congratulator-in-chief.
Using the Trump Twitter Archive, Mashable analyzed over 100 of Trump's tweets related to 20 American tragedies since he won the election on Nov. 8, 2016. While Trump has sent condolences, many of his tweets about tragedies lack the eloquence and empathy a grieving nation seeks. While tweets about tragedy might sound trivial, Trump uses the platform so prolifically his tweets provide a unique window into his real-time, uncensored thinking.
