Hmong Family Gunned Down in Their Stockton Home During Mother’s Day

A Hmong family, a 5-year-old girl and her parents, were recently shot and killed inside their home in the Sierra Vista Community, Stockton, California, while two other people got injured.

The tragic incident happened on Sunday after past 10:00 p.m. near the corner of 11th and Belleview Street, according to CBS Sacramento. The victims of the gruesome shooting were identified as 22-year-old Gina Xiong, Joe Lor, also 22, and their daughter, Kayleen.

They were all celebrating Mother’s Day that night when someone began opening fire outside into their home. KCRA reported the bullets hit all five people inside the house, including two unidentified men who were injured from gunshot wounds and were hospitalized after the attack.

The father, Lor, reportedly died at the scene while his wife and daughter died later after being taken to the hospital.

“This, all around, is just a very sad day for the City of Stockton, in particular in that neighborhood. There is a lot of people out there that knew this family so, everybody out there is taking it pretty hard,” Joe Silva of Stockton Police Department said in a statement.

Stockton police, with the help of the neighborhood betterment team, are now conducting their investigation to quickly find the person or people behind the gruesome killing.

“The amount of gun violence we saw that tore apart that family — and in just a matter of minutes, on Mother’s Day — is something that goes beyond even words. This police department, I want our community to know, has this as a top priority,” Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones said.

The authorities are now urging those who have information on the identity of the killer/killers to come forward and contact the department.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
