Houston police chief expresses hopelessness about gun control in emotional post

The shooting that killed 10 at a school in Santa Fe, Tex. on Friday has once again brought up America's need for gun control and growing desensitization to mass shootings, and Houston chief of police Art Acevedo is done with it. 

In a public Facebook post, Acevedo said he has "hit rock bottom" on gun control, and has nothing to say to elected officials "who will once again do absolutely nothing."

"The hatred being spewed in our country and the new norms we, so-called people of faith are accepting, is as much to blame for so much of the violence in our once pragmatic nation," Acevedo wrote on Friday night.  Read more...
