Rachael Bland touched many people's lives through her work as a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live. Bland died in early September from breast cancer after sharing her experience of living with cancer on her podcast, "You, Me and The Big C".

Less than two months after her death, Bland has won a posthumous radio award.

Bland, 40, died on Sept. 5. She is survived by her husband Steve and her son Freddie.

Our beautiful, courageous Rachael died peacefully this morning surrounded by her close family. We are crushed but she would want me to thank everyone who took an interest in her story or sent messages of support. You’ll never know how much they meant to her.
