It looks pretty likely the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Pro will have a hefty battery

The next big phone from Samsung is set to be the Galaxy Note 10, and we're only a few months away from the release.

One of the more surprising things about the forthcoming handset seems to be the launch of multiple Note 10 variants, encompassing different screen sizes and a 5G model. The Note 10 Pro is the one we're interested in today, as that looks like it'll be packing a 4,500mAh battery in the mix.

According to a battery pack that flipped through the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Samsung has asked for certification for a component bearing the model number EB-BN975ABU, which seems close to the expected SM-N975F model number for the Note 10.

Just to confuse things, that was the model number expected for the 5G model of the Note 10, but leaker Ice Universe is claiming this battery will be used in the Note 10 4G:

There are some questions about this though - the battery in question from the KIIT bears a February 2019 date, which seems a tad early for a phone launching in August - although of all brands, Samsung might be the most careful with the batteries it makes.

The 4,500mAh power pack would be a significant jump from the 4,000mAh option in the Galaxy Note 9, which suggests additional features might be added to the mix in the shape of wider connectivity and could well mean this is the size of the 5G model's battery too.

When you consider that the battery in 2011's original Galaxy Note was just 2,500mAh, you can see how far we've come... although these phones still struggle to last over a day comfortably.
