9 Geek News That Will Make Your Inner Nerd Insanely Happy

Modern world is filled with all kinds of wonders from spectacular action movies and sci-fi looking rockets flying into space to awesome gadgets and mind-bending discoveries that keep popping up like mushrooms after rain. For example, have you heard about a town where the last corpse was seen around 50s? And how about the shots of teenage Groot? There’s also the new Avengers movie that’s been driving fans crazy all over the world and some cool newly found Easter eggs like the one fans have recently noticed in Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s so much to see and so little time! Here we’ve gathered 10 geek news that will make your inner nerd insanely happy.

The Harry Potter house
One might think that the Harry Potter craze is long gone, but rest assured, there’s still so much we need to learn about the magic world! We’ve all gotten used to things like Harry Potter theme parks, magical wands, and spectacular HP prequels, but how about living in a Harry Potter house? Jeff Arundel, a restaurant owner, purchased a house in Minnesota back in 2002, and by 2009 it looked like it came from the pages of a Harry Potter novel. For some reason he got tired of living in a picturesque castle-like home and decided to sell it for $2,995,000, which is not that much if you come to think of it. Even the locals are making their bids! So if you have a few spare million dollars, it can be the purchase of a lifetime.

Deadpool 2
You’ve probably already watched the new international trailer of Deadpool 2, but we can’t go on without mentioning it as well as the poster featuring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Josh Brolin (Cable), and Zazie Beetz (Domino). There’s also a hilarious Flashdance-inspired poster that hints to how amazing the next movie is going to be.

A town where nobody dies
Have you ever heard of a town called Longyearbyen? Just as the name suggests, people in this Norwegian town live long and prosperous lives, but dying is an entirely different matter. When the authorities discovered that bodies (and dangerous viruses like Spanish flu) simply don’t decompose in this northernmost town, they decided to ‘ban dying’ for good. And just like that there hasn’t been a corpse in Longyearbyen since 1950 when graveyards stopped accepting bodies and it was decided that terminally ill patients would be sent to different cities all over Norway. The Night’s Watch guys from Game of Thrones would have been ecstatic about this!
