Arcade Claw Machine Angers Twitter After Using Live Puppies for Prizes

Many netizens are calling out an arcade claw machine for using real live puppies after a video of it has gone viral online.

It is unclear where the viral video was shot, but according to the Mirror, it is believed to have been taken somewhere in China. Elisa Allen, the director of the animal rights group PETA, has described the arcade game as a “matter of life and death.”

Animals aren’t disposable toys, and PETA urges Chinese authorities to look into this video as a matter of urgency – if the dogs are real, it’s not a harmless arcade game but rather a matter of life and death,” she told Mirror. “They can easily be hurt by being repeatedly dropped, and some have been left to endure a painful death from dehydration or starvation.”

But this isn’t the only instance a claw arcade machine has incorporated a living animal into its game. Allen continued to note that there had been other cases such as similar machines containing turtles, lobsters, and even crabs that Alibaba set up back in 2017. Another claw machine also caused outrage that same year after it used live cats for prizes.

That is so cruel! And what if that thing poke out one or both of their eyes?????” one Twitter user said, as reported by LADbible.

That is horrible. Poor things must be terrified,” one user said.

Can we just stop producing humans already?” another social media user wrote.
