Over the last week, Airbnb took more steps towards diversity, inclusion and equity by announcing Melissa C. Thomas-Hunt as Head of Global Diversity and Belonging. Read more about this and other notable executive changes.

Airbnb appoints Melissa C. Thomas-Hunt as Head of Global Diversity and Belonging

Airbnb said it has hired Melissa C. Thomas-Hunt as Head of Global Diversity and Belonging. In her role, Thomas-Hunt will serve on Airbnb's Executive Team and lead the strategy and execution of global internal diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging programs for Airbnb's 5,000 employees around the world. Thomas-Hunt joins Airbnb from Vanderbilt University, where she served as Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence.

Symantec CEO Greg Clark steps down

Greg Clark has stepped down as President and CEO and as a member of Symantec's board effective immediately. Richard S. Hill, current Symantec director and former Chairman and CEO of Novellus Systems, has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. In late April, Clark made it clear that he wanted to spend more time with his aging father.

Former Hortonworks CEO joins Docker as new Chief Executive Officer

Docker announced that former Hortonworks Chief Executive Officer Rob Bearden will be joining the company as CEO in early June. Steve Singh, Docker's current CEO & Chairman, will continue to serve as the company's chairman. According to TechCrunch, Singh "was tired of working 75 hours a week, but he wanted to leave the company in the hands of a capable steward."

Danske Bank names new CEO following money laundering scandal

Denmark's biggest lender, Danske Bank, has named Chris Vogelzang, the former head of ABN Amro's retail and private banking operations, as its chief executive. The appointment ends a seven-month search to find an outsider to lead it out of a €200bn money laundering scandal. 

BNY Mellon appoints Head of Blockchain

BNY Mellon has hired Subhankar Sinha as Head of Blockchain based in New York. Sinha will focus on developing partnerships with startups, accelerators, incubators and business partners to drive enterprise innovation and build ecosystems for all BNY Mellon blockchain initiatives. Sinha previously founded Nabartham LLC, where he advised startups on strategic partnerships, ecosystem governance and product-market fit for blockchain products.
