Soldier saves baby girl to cross the border, 18 Years Later… what a reunion!

Back in 1996, AwazBawari was appearing on the death list of Saddam Hussein. USA gave her an asylum but that never included her baby girl. On the day of crossing the border, her baby was not allowed to leave. She said that a soldier had pointed to a window and told her to give the baby to anybody who will take her back to her family. But as for her, she decided not to leave if not in company of her kid, even if her life was in danger. Responding, she told the soldier that her daughter was not a sack of potatoes to be given anyhow to anyone. She continued saying that it was because of her she decided to leave her mother and country behind. It was when Greg Peppin, an American soldier intervened to help. He took the baby called Lava and told the others she was called Greg. Upon taking her, he helped her cross the border with the help of his U.S. passport. Mother and daughter were able to start a new life in Georgia. They were not able to see Greg Peppin, to give their gratitude to him. After 18 years had elapsed, Lava was able to locate Peppin and invited him to come for her graduation at the school. Lava revealed to Fox 5 that she needed him to be there because if it wasn’t that he helped her that day, she could not have been able to be obtain good education more than her parents.
