To make matters even worse, the family didn’t have enough cash to offset the funeral expenses, so she figured she could sell some of grandma’s jewels and get some cash to cover the expenses. They had their geologist check the stones to determine their type. Turns out, two of them were just useless glass! But one of them was a real Burmese ruby. Although Crystal had hoped for just a few hundred dollars for the gems, the single one ended up fetching $10,000! What a surprise!
