New Nokia 3310 release date confirmed, but only in two countries

We finally have a new Nokia 3310 release date of June 5, but don't get too excited as it's only been confirmed for two countries.

The two lucky locations are the Netherlands and Belgium, where the new Nokia 3310 will carry a price tag of €59.99 (around £50, $65, AU$90).

The new-look 3310 took the web by storm back at the start of March when manufacturer HMD launched the re-imagined iconic handset - but since then the firm has been pretty much silent.

The return of a classic

The new Nokia 3310 has divided opinion online, with some loving the upgraded design, color display and new version of Snake - while others have been less impressed with HMD's decision to not stick closer to the original.

This won't be your next smartphone though, with its 2.4-inch, 240 x 320 display, Nokia Series 30+ operating system, 2MP rear camera and 16MB (yes, megabits) of internal storage.

There is a microSD slot allowing you to improve on the space by up to 32GB, and while the 1,200mAh battery isn't anywhere near the size of the power pack found in modern smartphones HMD says it'll be good for up to 31 days of standby.

It's a perfect emergency, festival or backup handset then, and with its accessible price point the novelty of owning the new 3310 may just prove popular.

We have contacted HMD to find out 3310 release date and price for the UK, US and the rest of the world, and we'll update this article when we get a response.
