The best Click Frenzy 2017 deals in Australia

There are a few months before Black Friday and Cyber Monday come our way again, but Australia’s answer to those massive sales is here again. It’s Click Frenzy time Down Under and thousands of online shoppers are going to converge on the Click Frenzy website to bag a fantastic bargain, or two, that could save them plenty.

Created in 2012 as an Australian equivalent to the Cyber Monday sales in the US, only without being linked to the same US-centric timing, the Click Frenzy event centralises hundreds of deals from a large number of Australian online retailers in one location for 24 hours.

While retailers also hold sales on their own sites, the Click Frenzy website is built to withstand enormous concurrent traffic volumes, with a marketplace that will allow shoppers to search by brand, item, category or just browse the large number of deals on offer.

Click Frenzy has officially started as of 7pm AEST today (16 May) and will continue for 24 hours until 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday, 17 May). And given the volume of bargains available, we decided to save you some time and pick out the choicest tech deals we there are.

PCs & LAPTOPS

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop (from $599): 15-inch laptops with some amount of grunt under the hood rarely come with three-figure price tags. But Dell has slashed prices for Click Frenzy on the Inspiron 15 5000 range. For $599, you get a machine powered by an AMD A6 processor, 8GB of memory and a 1TB hard drive, saving yourself $100 on the RRP of $699. For something with a tad more power, you can get a device with a 7th-generation Intel Core i5 CPU and a 2GB AMD Radeon R7 graphics card for $799 – that’s $200 off the usual retail price. And the model powered by a 7th-gen Intel Core i7 processor is up for sale for $949, saving you $250. For something with 16GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, you’ll spend $1,078.99 – that’s a whopping 40% off (or a saving of $720) on the RRP of $1,798.99.
Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 ($1,099): This 13-inch convertible laptop houses a 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor and comes with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. It also features a backlit keyboard and an infrared camera for facial recognition. In addition, you get to save $400 on the usual price tag of $1,499 and get it from Dell for $1,099.
Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptop ($1,018.99): This 17-inch laptop from Dell gives you plenty of real estate on a screen with a glossy finish. Plus it’s powered by a 7th-generation Intel Core i7 CPU, with 8GB of memory and a whopping 1TB hard drive for storage. It also houses a Radeon R7 graphics card. And there’s 40% off on this machine as well – available for $1,018.99, down from $1,698.99.
Dell Inspiron 24 3000 all-in-one desktop (from $899): If you don’t need a laptop but have the extra room for a 24-inch monitor, the Inspiron 24 3000 series could be a great choice. One model features a 7th-generation Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB RAM and a 1TB HDD, while the other is powered by a Core i5 processor and has 8GB of memory, with price tags of $899 and $1,299 respectively, saving you up to $300.
Dell Inspiron 24 7000 all-in-one desktop ($1,699): Powered by a 6th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU, this ultrathin 24-inch desktop comes with 8GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive, along with a 4GB Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics card. Plus, the articulating stand allows you to orient the monitor at any angle between -5 and 60 degrees or lay it completely flat. There’s $300 to be saved on this beautifully designed machine, available for $1,699 – down from $1,999.
HP Omen 17 ($2,199): HP’s Omen is a 17-inch beast of a gaming laptop, with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, a quad-core Intel i7 processor, and 16GB RAM, this could handle whatever you throw at it. You can knock a sweet $1,500 off the asking price of $3,699 at the HP store, which brings it down to a very reasonable $2,199.
HP Pavilion 15 ($1,279): Available in Blizzard White, this 15-inch laptop from HP features an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Plus there’s 25% off on the device. It’s available for $1,279, down from $1,699.

MOBILE PHONES

Motorola Moto X Force ($309): This is one robust phone, featuring an uncommonly tough screen and smooth performance. We tested this mid-range phone and gave it 4 out of 5 stars. And the budget price tag has dropped lower, thanks to Click Frenzy – you can get it for $309 from DWI, down from $439. But be aware that the stock can come from sources around the world, so purchase products from DWI if you’re comfortable with that.

HOME AV

Sony 49-inch 4K HDR TV ($888): 4K TVs are becoming more affordable, but there are very few that boast HDR, a big brand name, and a 49-inch display at this price. You can grab Sony’s X8000D for a massive $1,211 off the RRP of $2,099, bringing it down to only $888 at the Sony store.

Sony RX100 IV digital compact camera ($999): Sony’s premium 20MP compact camera features a 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor for fast shutter speeds and a 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 Zeiss lens. And it’s down to $999 from a lofty $1,399, offering a saving of $400.
DJI Mavic PRO ($1,789): This is DJI’s most portable drone packed full of features, incuding a 12MP/4K ground-facing camera. It can reach speeds of up to 65kmph in ‘Sports Mode’ and has been designed to fly steadily in rough weather conditions. Get the entire RTF kit set for $1,789 from DWI.
