Korean Woman Visiting Her Daughter Brutally Beaten, Robbed at California Hotel
Police are searching for three men who beat and robbed a Korean woman who was visiting her daughter in California outside a Best Western Hotel in Placentia last Friday.
Officers arrived at the hotel at around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery and discovered the 55-year-old woman and her 25-year-old daughter in the parking lot, Placentia police said in a statement on Monday.
The mother was on the ground suffering from “obvious signs of trauma”, KTLA reported.
The women told police that they pulled into the hotel at around 6 p.m. on Friday, when a blue SUV parked next to them and were approached by two men while the driver remained in the car.
One of the men grabbed the mother’s purse and attempted to snatch it away.
She tried to put up a fight, but that’s when the other suspect pointed a gun at her face before pushing the woman to the ground and drove off with her purse.
“Even after the woman had given up her purse, the suspects continued to punch and kick the woman until she lost consciousness. Both suspects returned to their vehicle and fled the parking lot towards Orangethorpe Ave.,” a press released stated, according to CBS News.
The mother was rushed to a local trauma center with serious injuries and will require surgery, authorities told ABC News.
The suspects were described as black males in their late teens, standing at about 6 feet tall and donned dark clothing.
Their vehicle was a navy blue, 4-door BMW sedan with a spoiler and yellow paper dealership license plates.
