Brits are livid about a blog's claim that this dish is a 'British classic'
Scones, roast dinners, crumpets, fish and chips; some dishes are famed for being totally British. But, one food blog's claims that a dish is a "quintessential British comfort classic" has prompted mass outrage on social media.
Food blog Eater tweeted a photo of a rather unappetising-looking dish alongside the statement that "mince meat on toast is a quintessential British comfort classic". Only problem is, most Brits on Twitter hadn't heard of the purportedly "classic" dish.
In Eater's article, the dish is described as comprising ground beef in a rich beef stock sauce, carrots, onions and tomatoes, all served up on a slice of sour dough bread fried in beef fat. Sounds...delicious? Read more...
