Here's why Mariah Carey fans are thrilled about Taylor Swift's new single
Back in 1996, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" spent a remarkable 16 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, setting an all-time record. Now, Luis Fonsi's "Despacito," which has occupied at least a small part of your brain all summer, is close to shattering that record — but Mariah fans think there's hope for their elusive chanteuse.
And that hope, weirdly enough, is Taylor Swift.
Swift plans to release her new single from Reputation this Friday at midnight — and there's a good chance it'll shoot right to #1. If it does, "Despacito" won't make it past its sixteenth week in the slot, and Mariah's record will technically remain unsurpassed. Read more...
