These paper puppets are made with an origami-like technique to look like they are really moving
These origami-like puppets can come to life with one touch.
They are called karakuri puppets and they have been used in Japan as early as the 17th Century.
The technique is called Kirigami which differs to origami as the paper is cut rather than just folded.
Karakuri can literally translate into "mechanism" or "trick" in English.
These puppets were designed by Haruki Nakamura. You can find more of his videos here.
Produced by Jasper Pickering. Special thanks to Joe Daunt.
