Chinese Mom Can Transform Herself into Any Celebrity With Makeup

Yan Xiuji, a stay-at-home mother-of-two from Suqian in east China’s Jiangsu Province, is rising to social media fame after using makeup to transform herself into both local and international celebrities during her live streams.

Yan, 29, has more than 500,000 followers on her Weibo account under the name “Baibian Aixiu” and has portrayed over 300 male and female celebrities since she started live streaming four months ago.

Yan told Pear Video that she starts doing her celebrity research at around 10 a.m. and continues to rehearse her makeover.

“I usually start my live-stream session around 7pm to 9pm and finish around 10pm or 11pm. Then I will upload the video on my social media accounts,” she said, according to Daily Mail.

It usually takes Yan two to four hours to finish a makeover for her video, which normally draws an average of 50,000 views. However, the duration sometimes depends on the facial features of the celebrity or the character they’re playing.

During her live streams, she covers half of her face with the makeover, while her other half shows the picture of the actual celebrity through a phone for comparison.

Yan later revealed in her interview that she used to paint portraits when she was younger.

“I guess it’s the foundation that I built up from drawing that makes me easier to apply it on makeup,” Yan said.

Some of the notable celebrities Yan has done include Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, and Sun Li playing the role of Zhen Huan in the popular Chinese drama “Empresses in the Palace.”
