“He was targeted by the suspect for no apparent reason,” Kansas City Police Department officer Jacob Becchina said in a statement to the media.
Hao traveled to the United States with his wife and four children aged 8, 6, 4, and 2 years old.
He was walking through the neighborhood when Hudson reportedly shot and killed him. A second person sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, while a third person was grazed by a bullet.

Another person tried to warn Hao that a man holding a shotgun was walking down the street, but the victim continued his walk.
“He probably didn’t understand the warning and kept walking,” one of Hao’s friends said, according to KCTV5.
Hudson called his family members after the incident and asked them to pick him up. He fought with them and they later called the police which led to Hudon’s arrest. The suspect was then taken to the hospital as he was believed to be high on PCP.
The weapon used by Hudson was later found in a storm drain covered in evidence such as human blood and tissue.
Hudson has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and four counts of armed criminal action.
