Japanese American News Anchor Suffers Fractured Skull After Bar Fight With Co-worker
A female news anchor suffered a fractured skull and a bleeding eardrum after engaging in a violent barroom brawl against her own weather girl.
Erica Bivens, a Japanese American newsreader at NBC affiliate local news channel WSAZ in Huntington, West Virginia, is now recovering from her injuries at home, according to a recent Facebook post.
Bivens reportedly had a scuffle with meteorologist Chelsea Ambriz whom she had accused of flirting with her husband.
The brawl between the co-workers reportedly started after Bivens thought Ambriz was hitting on her husband inside an unspecified bar on Sunday, according to The Independent.

“Erica advised that she had problems with Chelsea in the past as far as her being aggressive towards her,” a police report revealed.
“Erica said that she and her husband didn’t think anything of it until later in the evening Chelsea began to hit on Donald. Donald told Chelsea that he was not interested in her and went back over and stood with Erica.”
“Donald mentioned to Erica about what had just happened and so Erica went and confronted Chelsea about it. Erica said that Chelsea then became irate and began to shove Erica causing both of them to fall over in the bar area.”
Bivens was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital with hearing loss after the fight.
Authorities apprehended 26-year-old Ambriz, who was later charged with misdemeanor battery. She is set to appear in court on Sept. 21 and faces up to a year in jail if convicted on assault charges.
