Tragedy befell a 13-year-old boy who was caught on film sticking his body out of a car’s sunroof on a highway in China.
Captured by a passenger in the car just behind the boy’s vehicle, the footage of the teen’s horrific death has been widely shared on Chinese social media platform WeChat.

According to local media, the incident happened on a near-empty highway near Xinyu in Jiangxi on Sunday.
The trailing car appears to begin recording a video after noticing the half of the boy’s body was sticking out through the sunroof of their car, Shanghaiist reports.
In the clip, the passenger behind the camera and the driver can be heard laughing and poking fun at the boy. They also joked about the possibility of the boy being killed by the low clearance sign that was fast approaching.
The laughter stopped, however, when they saw that the child smashed his face into the sign and did not get back inside the car.
While local media reports would eventually confirm the boy’s death, it was not made clear why he kept his head out during the collision or why the other passengers in their car allowed him to stay out.
