What appears to have originated from a petty incident somehow escalated into a violent scuffle between a foreigner and six local police officers in Japan.
The incident, which was captured on camera by eyewitnesses, happened inside a Starbucks outlet in the Tsutaya Books complex, opposite Nakameguro Station in the Meguro Ward in Tokyo.

As he was being handcuffed, the man can be heard screaming “Mother! Mother!” a couple of times.
After the brief struggle, one of the officers can be heard calling out “police!” several times to pacify the resisting suspect.
“Do you speak Japanese?” the arresting officer asked.
“I’m trying to help, you’re not helping me,” the man replied in American English.
According to @anju_tokyo, who was at the cafe before the police arrived, the man was involved with a quarrel with a woman in English before escalating into a public disturbance that prompted the poli ce to respond.
While no other details about the incident have been reported, the man might have faced multiple charges for resisting arrest and fighting back at the officers, SoraNews24 reports.
For obstructing officers from their official duties, the unnamed foreigner could have received a maximum of three years imprisonment or a 500,000 yen fine ($4,400).
He might have also been charged with criminal damage, which comes with a maximum of three years imprisonment or a 300,000 yen ($2,600) fine, or assault, which comes with a maximum sentence of 15 years imprisonment or a 500,000 yen ($4,400) fine.
