Richard Plepler departs HBO amid WarnerMedia restructuring

Richard Plepler is leaving HBO after 27 years with the cable giant. News of Plepler's departure comes nine months after AT&T's acquisition of HBO parent company Time Warner was approved and finalized which formed WarnerMedia. The timing of the announcement comes amid a pending executive restructuring where one senior leader will oversee all TV content across its networks.

Lou Maiuri promoted to Chief Operating Officer at State Street to focus on automation 

State Street has appointed Lou Maiuri, who ran businesses including trading, research, tech and innovation at the custody bank, to the role of Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, he will have overarching responsibility for State Street’s IT, Global Delivery, Global Exchange, Charles River Development and Product teams. Maiuri has said that one of his goals with his new role is to focus on automation. 

American Express executive Kevin Cox joins GE to head up human resources 

Former American Express executive Kevin Cox will join GE as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Cox succeeds Raghu Krishnamoorthy who will be retiring from GE after 25 years.

The struggling industrial giant, whose shares have plummeted 67% since mid-2016, is reshaping its strategy under new CEO Larry Culp.

GE earlier this week announced a deal to sell its biopharma business to Danaher for $21 billion. 

American Express hires Monique Herena as Chief Human Resources Officer

Following the departure of Cox, American Express announced that Monique Herena will be joining the credit card company as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. She joins the company from BNY Mellon.

Former Pepsi CEO Indra Nooyi joins Amazon's board

Amazon this week named Indra Nooyi to its board of directors and also appointed her to the audit committee. Nooyi was the CEO of PepsiCo from October 2006 to October 2018. She becomes the second woman of color on Amazon's board after Starbucks COO Rosalind Brewer also joined the board recently.
