Lowlife Liverpool Fan Who Pushed Elderly Asian Man into Fountain Has a History of Being an Asshole
Last week, a group of Liverpool fans earned widespread condemnation on social media for pushing an Asian man into a fountain in Barcelona, Spain and continuing to mock him after the attack.
One of the men involved has since been outed and shamed by his fellow football fans, South China Morning Post reported.
In the original video, a man is captured on film pushing an elderly Asian man into the water at Placa Reial, a popular city landmark frequented by tourists. As the perpetrator flees the fountain, the distressed Asian man is then shown climbing out of the water.
He is then seen checking if his phone had been broken as a group of fans surround him and begin to mock him, with one person calling him “Mr. Miyagi-san.”
The area was packed with fans on Tuesday, celebrating ahead of their home team’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona.
Local media platforms later identified the man who kept taunting the elder as Martin Mullen. Mullen, a long-time fan of the club, is also reportedly recorded in a second video tackling a street vendor into the same fountain, the Liverpool Echo reports.
After his stunts went viral online, he received flak from netizens, which included fellow Liverpool supporters. The controversy sparked an investigation into the footage by both the club and local authorities.
On Wednesday, another clip of Mullen emerged online showing him splashing two jugs of liquid on another man in a diner and then casually walking away.

In the previous night, police arrived with riot vans on Placa Reial in a bid to control unruly Liverpool fans.
Officers forced the fans to move to the main tourist street, La Rambla, resulting in a stand-off, with fans shouting “we will not be moved” to the police while throwing beer cans.
In the end, numerous Liverpool fans were reportedly arrested for the ruckus and causing injury to some hotel workers. It is not known if Mullen was among those apprehended.
