Andrew Yang is Joining CNN as Political Commentator
Former Democratic presidential hopeful Andrew Yang has joined the team over at CNN as a political commentator, the network announced on Wednesday.
“I’m excited to join @CNN to help shed light on the election and the candidates’ experiences,” the 45-year-old entrepreneur tweeted. “Learned a lot these past months and am glad to contribute to the public discussion.”
Yang was headed to “AC 360” with Anderson Cooper tonight to discuss the primaries and has been live-tweeting about the debate in Nevada.

Yang “rose from obscurity to become a highly-visible candidate during the campaign, rallying a coalition of liberal Democrats, libertarians and some disaffected Republicans to form a devoted group of followers known as the Yang Gang,” CNN announced.
“Yang’s campaign was defined by the candidate’s happy go-lucky style. Videos of him singing in a church choir, dancing to the ‘Cupid Shuffle’ and crowdsurfing at events regularly went viral, helping burnish his image as a candidate just happy to be with his fans,” the network continued.
Yang suspended his presidential bid after the New Hampshire primary last week.
“While there is great work left to be done, you know I am the math guy, and it is clear tonight from the numbers that we are not going to win this race,” he told supporters in Manchester last Tuesday.
I am so proud of this campaign. Thank you to everyone who got us here. 🙏
