Chinese Doctor Who Postponed His Wedding Dies Fighting COVID-19
A 29-year-old doctor from Wuhan who postponed his own wedding to fight the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV or COVID-19), has died from the virus.
Peng Yinhua, a doctor in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, where the virus is believed to have originated, passed away on Feb. 20 at the Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, according to Chinese state media Xinhua.
Peng was reportedly working at the First People’s Hospital of Jiangxia District of Wuhan when he became infected. The doctor was hospitalized on Jan. 25 and was later transferred to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital to be treated on Jan. 30.
The doctor was engaged to his fiancée and was supposed to get married during the Lunar New Year holiday, Business Insider reported. However, the couple delayed their wedding so that he could treat those who were infected by the virus.
