J.J. Watt is the voice of reason in an 'SNL' spin on 'Rudy'
We've all seen the feel-good football movie of forever, Rudy. But for a cold, hard splash of reality, try "Robbie."
In this Saturday Night Live sketch Chris Redd plays the the all-spirit, no-talent Robbie who desperately wants to take to the field on the big day. Everyone's on board and willing to quit the team to make that happen... except J.J. Watt. The SNL guest host and IRL football player is flabbergasted, because Robbie is terrible and will probably die on the field.
Then the kindly, old janitor (Kenan Thompson) shows up with even more intel on Robbie, as if J.J.'s descriptive rundown wasn't enough. But the coach (Beck Bennett) wants to give him a shot. Does Robbie have what it takes? Read more...
