When it launches on September 15, Walmart+ is slated to become a major competitor for Amazon Prime. But how will the two rival services stack up?
Amazon Prime dates back to 2005. Amazon has had 15 years to establish and refine its perks.
On August 31, Walmart chief customer officer Janey Whiteside announced that Walmart + would launch on September 15. Whiteside also broke down a number of perks that Walmart + members will enjoy. Many of these benefits seem tailor-made to compete with Amazon's Prime subscription service.
Here's a look at how the two subscription services compare. We will update this article as even more details are released about Walmart+:
Amazon Prime: $12.99 a month or $119 a year.
Walmart+: $12.95 a month or $98 a year
ShippingAmazon Prime: Prime members can opt for free two-day shipping on eligible products, free same-day shipping for certain zip codes, and free two-hour delivery for certain items and zip codes.
Walmart+: Unlimited same-day delivery for 160,000 grocery items, tech products, and household essentials.
Order slotsAmazon Prime: Subscribers looking to organize their schedules can opt to establish a weekly delivery day.
Walmart+: Whiteside told reporters during a Monday press call that the service will not give subscribers priority over traditional Walmart customers in terms of pickup time slots.
StreamingAmazon Prime: Members receive access to music, films, original television shows, Twitch benefits, and channels like HBO, Showtime, and Starz.
Walmart+: Whiteside indicated to reporters that the subscription service could include entertainment options in the future.
Grocery benefitsAmazon Prime: Prime subscribers get deals and beneficial delivery options at Whole Foods Market, as well as free grocery delivery in certain regions.
Walmart+: Subscribers will have access to an unlimited same-day delivery service for grocery products.
Contactless shoppingAmazon Prime: None, although the company's contactless Amazon Go convenience stores are open to the public.

ClothingAmazon Prime: Amazon Prime subscribers have access to Prime Wardrobe and Personal Shopper. These services allow shoppers to try on clothing before purchasing and opt for a monthly styling service.
