- Parler's website appeared to be back online. The platform was booted from Amazon Web Services and kicked off Apple and Google's app stores.
- The vice chairman of Samsung was sent to prison. Jay Y. Lee was accused of bribing a friend of a South Korean president to win support for his succession.
- Github backpedaled on the firing of a Jewish employee. The firm said it made "significant errors of judgement" when it fired an employee who suggested that "Nazis" were among the Capitol rioters.
- Parler attracted senior members of the UK government before it shut down. They reportedly included Michael Gove, chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster, and foreign minister James Cleverly.
- SpaceX blast 60 internet satellites into orbit on Tuesday. The firm delayed the first Starlink satellite launch of 2021 because of bad weather.
- Home Depot faced pressure to investigate whether social media ads fuel violence. Investors expect the issue to get traction in the wake of the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.
- The Trump administration revoked the licenses of companies that supply to Huawei. Companies including Intel and the Japanese chipmaker Kioxia were informed that they would no longer be able to sell to Huawei.
- A Republican congresswoman was suspended by Twitter for 12 hours after telling Trump supporters to 'mobilize'. A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to Insider that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's account was "locked out for multiple violations.".
- Premium: We asked 12 prominent European tech investors to pick out fintech startups they think will blow up in 2021. The sector continued its run as being by far the biggest in the bloc for VC investment, netting $9.3 billion in fresh capital in 2020.
- Premium: We got an exclusive look at the pitch deck $3 billion valued healthtech startup Hinge Health used to raise $300 million. CEO Daniel Perez told Insider the company received more than $400 million in commitments within 24 hours of opening the latest funding round.
