Amazon Prime Day 2021: the best early deals available now
Amazon Prime Day deals will start on Monday June 21 and run through Tuesday June 22 this year. We're already seeing plenty of early Prime Day deals hitting those lofty shelves, though. The annual two-day sales extravaganza offers Prime members exclusive discounts on everything from 4K TVs to headphones and smartwatches, and this year we're expecting some excellent offers across the board. If you're not a Prime member you won't miss out either, Amazon is offering a free 30 day Prime subscription to anyone who needs it right now.
At the moment we're seeing a number of smart home and Amazon-owned brands already taking price cuts in early Prime Day deals. The Blink Mini camera (was £34.99, now £21.99) and Ring Video Doorbell Wired (was £49, now £35) are among the best early offers you can pick up right now. They're both at record low prices, with the Blink Mini dropping down even further than its previous Prime Day price and the Ring taking its first ever discount.
That means we don't expect them to get any cheaper when official Prime Day deals do land, however there are a few Echo speaker deals we'd hold off on. The Echo Dot is currently down to £49.99, but previous sales events have seen that cost drop all the way down below £30 so stay tuned for more discounts.
We're also seeing a number of free trials up for grabs, from Audible to Music Unlimited. Some offers (like a free four month subscription to Music Unlimited) are restricted to Prime members but if you're not signed up yet you can still take advantage of other trials, like this free 30 day Audible membership.
While early Prime Day deals haven't quite hit wider brands yet, we're expecting to see plenty more iPads, headphones, smartwatches, and 4K TVs on offer next week. Some of these more popular items are already on sale, and have been for a long time, but we'd recommend waiting for the day itself (or any early offers that spring up this weekend) before committing, just in case there is a blockbuster discount to be found.
Amazon Prime 30 day free trial
If you're not signed up to Amazon Prime yet you can pick up a 30 day free trial which will grant you access to all of this month's upcoming Prime Day deals. Just be aware that this will auto-renew at £7.99 per month once your trial is up.

The best early Prime Day deals
Blink Mini security camera: £34.99 £21.99 at Amazon
The Blink Mini security camera has taken a price drop down to £21.99 ahead of the official Prime Day deals. That's particularly impressive considering last year's offers only managed to cut that price to £24.99. We don't expect to see this plus and play camera take any further discounts over the next week, then, as this is already undercutting last year's Prime Day price.
Ring Video Doorbell Wired: £49 £35 at Amazon
The newly released Ring Video Doorbell Wired comes in much cheaper than the older wireless models. That's because there's a little more installation work to be undertaken here, but you also won't be worrying about battery life either. This is the first time we've ever seen this model discounted which means you're getting the lowest price yet and we don't expect it to drop any further when Prime Day rolls around either.
Amazon Echo Buds: £119.99 £49.99 at Amazon
This is the lowest price we've ever seen on Amazon's own Echo Buds. Whether you've been waiting for that price to drop or you're simply curious about Amazon's Alexa earbuds, this is a fantastic offer well ahead of this month's Prime Day deals. We would be surprised to see this price drop any further in the next week or so, but if it does it would only be by around £5 more.
Amazon Echo Dot | Amazon Music Unlimited 6 months free: £49.99 at Amazon
You can grab six months of Amazon Music Unlimited for free when you pick up the latest fourth generation Amazon Echo Dot. That's great if you need a smart speaker right now but we have seen this device drop down below £30 during previous sales events which means we'd be inclined to hold out for more discounts here.
Ring Alarm 5 piece home security kit: £219 £129 at Amazon
You can save £90 on this Ring Alarm five piece home security kit at Amazon right now, with savings increasing as you add more devices to your bundle. This package includes a suite of alarm devices and sensors, with a simple DIY installation process as well. That's an excellent price drop and the lowest price of all time. Considering the popularity of these bundles this might be the cheapest the five piece kit drops this month, so if you're after a new security system we'd jump early here.
Amazon Music Unlimited 4 months free: £7.99 £0 per month at Amazon
If you've been considering switching your music streaming service, you're browsing at the right time. Ahead of this year's Prime Day deals, Amazon is offering four months of Music Unlimited for free, though note this will resume at the usual £7.99 rate once your trial is up.
Amazon Kindle Unlimited 3 months free: £7.99 £0 per month at Amazon
Kindle Unlimited is a great way to keep your tablet or Kindle ereader topped up with excellent reads. You'll have access to a massive library of unlimited titles all ready to download. You're getting three months free here, with an auto-renew system that will start charging at a rate of £7.99 a month after the trial period.
Audible Premium Plus: 3-months for 99p at Amazon
Amazon Prime members who haven't already signed up to Audible can take advantage of this early Prime Day deal and score themselves 3-months of one of the best audiobook streaming services for nearly no cost. With this Audible Plus membership you'll get yourself unlimited access to the Audible Plus library (thousands of titles), and discounts over at the Audible store page - including the promotion below.
Audible Audiobooks: 2-for-1 at Amazon
If you're already an Audible member, head on over to the store this week to see a full selection of audiobooks up for grabs in the latest 2-for-1 Audible sale. Note - you'll have to log in to your personal account and navigate to the Audible store to see the full selection of titles available. To redeem this promotion, simply add two eligible titles into your cart then checkout to get two titles for one credit.
Prime Video channels 99p for 3 months at Amazon
Prime members can choose from a massive range of Prime Video channels for just 99p for three months. That's a great offer for anyone looking to get more out of their Prime membership, with channels including StarzPlay, Hayu, Shudder and Crime and Investigation.
Spend £10 on small business items, receive £10 Prime Day credit at Amazon
Those in the UK can also take advantage of this offer, and you'll find a range of home and kitchen, tech, and handmade items up for grabs here. Again, you'll need to be a Prime member to receive your credit, and the promotion is only valid once per membership.
The best Amazon deals for non-Prime members
Apple Magic Keyboard: £99 £59 at Amazon
Amazon is now offering an amazing £40 discount that brings us to our lowest price ever at £59. This is the latest model so you're getting that new and improved typing feel, with a seamless Mac connection and Apple suggests you'll get a month of battery life per charge as well.
Apple AirPods (wired charging): £159 £123.99 at Amazon
We've been seeing this £123.99 sales price on the standard 2019 AirPods for a while now, but it's still only £4 more than their record low of £119. That means we don't expect much more of a price drop over Prime Day 2021, which makes this an excellent saving already.
Apple iPad Pro 2021 (11-inch, WiFi, 128GB): £749 £718.98 at Amazon
The brand new iPad Pro 2021 has only taken a couple of price cuts in its short time on the market so far, which means this £30 discount is certainly gearing up for something. We'd expect this model to drop an extra £10 or so in official Prime Day deals this year, but competition is going to be incredibly heavy. If you're not concerned about getting the absolute best price yet, you'll have a much easier time securing this saving ahead of time.
M1 MacBook Air (256GB): £999 £899 at Amazon
Amazon is offering the M1 MacBook Air for just £899 this week. While we did see an extra £30 off in previous flash sales, this is still a fantastic offer that goes beyond Amazon's usual £50 discount. You're getting the entry level 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD configuration here, with Apple's monster M1 chip at the helm.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is an annual two-day deals extravaganza held exclusively for Prime members (although you can take part with a free 30-day trial of Prime). You'll find top savings on everything from TVs and laptops to kitchen appliances, home and office items, fashion, and more.
When is Amazon Prime Day
Amazon has now confirmed that Prime Day 2021 will take place starting June 21 through June 22. Last year's sales event was delayed due to the global pandemic, a move which saw Prime Day kicking off in October and essentially sparking a whole season of discounts leading up to the holidays. However, it looks like we're back to regularly scheduled programming for this year (if a little earlier than usual).
How do I prepare for Amazon Prime Day 2021?
Amazon Prime Day deals move pretty quickly, which is why research into the products you're looking for, the features and specs you're after, and the price you should be expecting to see can pay off massively once you're in the thick of the sales. Whether you need to find another choice because your chosen TV or laptop isn't discounted, or if you spot another price that may offer up a better deal, the homework you do now will help you navigate Amazon's loft aisles on the big day.
First up, you'll need to work out exactly what you need and what you want from Amazon's Prime Day deals. Whether you're after a new TV, laptop, or set of headphones, for example, take some time to mark out which features and specs you need to be picking up, and which ones are more luxury nice-to-haves. This will help you find a second or third choice, widening your net for the best offers on the day.
From there, make sure you price up your options. That means picking apart the lowest price these models have ever dropped to, as well as where they fell over Amazon Prime Day last year. You can use a tool called CamelCamelCamel as a starting point for this information.
Once you have a good idea of what could be on offer, and what the best Prime Day deals look like for you, we'd recommend keeping a close eye on your chosen products in the run up to the big event. Discounts happen all the time, and you might be able to walk away with your perfect deal before the competition starts to surge.
How do you find the best Prime Day deals?
1. Grab an Amazon Prime free trial
If you're not a Prime member yet you're not out of the running for this year's Prime Day deals. Closer to the event Amazon will likely be offering free trials of its Prime service, which means you'll be able to take part in the savings event and enjoy some extra time with Prime Video as well.
2. Know what you want to buy - but stay flexible
Having a good understanding of exactly what you want to get out of Amazon Prime Day 2021 will be key to winning this year. That way you'll be able to quickly recognise how good that discount really is, but stay flexible enough to know whether you should opt for another model.
For example, if you need a new 4K TV take a look at what features each brand offers, perhaps take a look at a few in person (Currys is great for displaying side by side comparisons in-store), and find a few options you would be happy to pick up. Get to know their prices and how cheap they can be so that you can identify a good deal quickly on the day.
However, it's also worth identifying the features that you could sacrifice in order to boost the specs that you really care about - you don't want to miss out on the best Prime Day deals just because the specific model you had in mind isn't taking part.
3. Keep some of that flexibility in your budget
Obviously it's never a good idea to get caught up in the heat of the moment and spend crazy money for the sake of a good deal. However, a little room above your maximum spend will be helpful in securing the best value deals available.
Sometimes the best Prime Day deals aren't on the cheapest items available, but on the next level up that offers so much more without boosting the price too much. For example, if you're looking for a laptop you might be tempted by a super low price on a 32GB Chromebook. However, if the 64GB model is just £20 or £30 more expensive it's a far better investment.
4. Get in there early - but stick around for the full event
When the day itself comes, we'd recommend heading to Amazon as early as possible. This will give you first eyes on the biggest discounts Amazon is offering on the first day, and because many of the hottest Prime Day deals tend to run out of stock particularly quickly you may need to move fast.
However, just because you've managed to secure an incredible discount straight away shouldn't mean your work is done. Amazon releases plenty more high profile savings throughout the course of the two-day event, so it's worth checking back in throughout as well.
5. You're not limited to Amazon - price check and price match
Amazon Prime Day isn't strictly limited to Amazon. We see more and more retailers offering competing discounts these days, and that extra competition often drives prices even further down. It's worth checking other shops aren't beating your Prime Day deals, but even if they aren't, some like Currys will be offering price matching guarantees and you may snag additional extras as well.
Amazon Prime Day vs Black Friday: should you wait?
Both Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday are well known for offering some of the best deals of the year, and while last year's offers were a little closer together due to Prime Day's delayed date, it's worth considering whether you should be waiting for November's sales in 2021. In general, we see the same devices discounted during both Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day deals. However, there are some key differences in how each sale period operates that can change how easy deals are to find and whether you'll be able to get your hands on them before they sell out.
Prime Day deals are, obviously, limited to Amazon, which means most of the discounts are limited to one retailer and others looking to compete with them. Deals are therefore easier to find and price checking is a lot faster, which means you're less likely to lose out on top items that are selling particularly quickly.
Black Friday, however, is set across a massive range of retailers with far more variety on offer and a bigger pool of competing shoppers. That does mean we see prices fall a little further as retailers are all competing with each other, rather than just Amazon, but with flash sales offering the lowest of these prices and plenty more eyes on the shops you may not be able to get the deal you're hoping for.
While you may be able to save an extra few pounds in November, then, you're far more likely to get the best offer for you in Amazon Prime Day deals. If you need your tech now, then, you can rest assured that even if prices do drop lower on Black Friday, you've got a much better chance of actually securing those discounts in the summer.
What should you expect from Amazon Prime Day deals 2021?
Last year's Amazon Prime Day deals offered up some excellent discounts on both brand new (we're talking not even out yet) and older, more affordable tech. In the former category we had the fourth generation of Echo and Echo Dot devices, which were offering up bundle deals for pre-order. It's almost guaranteed that Amazon will lean on its own range of smart home devices over Prime Day 2021, as well as the brands like Blink, Eufy and Ring that it has acquired as well.
However, if you're not in need of a cheap tablet or new smart speaker, we're also expecting discounts on Apple products, Nintendo Switch consoles, laptops and 4K TVs as well.
Amazon always offers excellent prices on the latest Apple tech, and with last year's early discounts on then-newly released M1 MacBooks, things are already looking promising. In fact, we've seen prices drop lower than those early savings so far this year, which means we're expecting at least £100 off the new laptop range. While the 8th generation iPad didn't see as much love in last year's Amazon Prime Day deals, we've started to see that £329 price point waver a little, and this year's sales event might be the last straw before a major discount as well.
Prime Day TV deals are always competitive, and last year we saw some excellent savings here as well. LG models were sitting at around £300 - £400, and premium Philips displays were also taking big discounts as well. This year we're expecting to see LG's NanoCell range drop its price a little further, and with some excellent OLED TV deals already taking place earlier in the year those after a luxury screen will likely have a few options as well.
What happened on Prime Day last year?
Last year's Amazon Prime Day deals event was pushed back to October 13-14. That meant Prime Day kick-started the holiday shopping season, causing many of the retailer's rivals to launch their sales even earlier than usual in an effort to win back consumer spending from Amazon.
Despite some concerns around stock and shipping during the pandemic, the event surpassed the previous year's, selling an extra $3.24bn-worth of products. Much of this increase is likely due to how close Prime Day was to the holiday season, but the pandemic also changed shopping behaviour, with more people shopping online in 2020 than ever before.
According to Amazon - and our data mirrors the findings - the best-selling products globally were Amazon’s own devices: the Alexa-enabled Echo Dot and Fire Stick 4K. Other top sellers included the iRobot Roomba Robot Vacuum, LifeStraw Personal Water Filter, LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet, Bose QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones and Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch. Robot vacuums, in particular, were hot products on our pages.
Amazon Prime Day: the best deals from last year
Amazon's best Prime Day deals last year consisted of some excellent offers on its own devices. We saw record low prices on a range of Echo and Echo Show devices (and some hadn't even been released yet). On top of that, though you could also score an excellent discount on the Samsung Galaxy S20, a range of laptop deals, Nintendo Switch games, and iPads as well.
Samsung Galaxy S20: at Amazon | SIM-free | £777.58 £649 | 19% saving
If you didn't mind losing out on 5G features, this was without a doubt the best Samsung Galaxy S20 deal on the market over Prime Day last year. It brought the costs down to just £649 for one of the best smartphones available at the time.
Amazon Echo (2020) + Hue Bulb: £104.98 £89.99 at Amazon

Air Fryers and multi-cookers were the stars of last year's Prime Day deals if you were shopping for the kitchen. However, we also saw some excellent prices on robot vacuums. It comes with a three-ply base stainless steel cooking pot, steam rack, manual, recipe book and cooking time tables.
The best Amazon Prime Day TV deals
Last year's Prime Day deals weren't offering too many high profile TV discounts. Those shopping in the £300 - £600 price range were served by a few key price cuts on LG models and Samsung QLED TVs, though there was still very little available in the budget category. Hisense and Amazon's own Fire-enabled models were sitting in this range, offering 43-inch 4K displays at around £200 - £300, though these Prime Day deals were snapped up particularly quickly.
This year we do expect more of the same, with key leeway sitting with cheaper 43-inch LG displays. However, we're also looking to OLED models for more price drops below £1,000 and the LG NanoCell for higher value discounts in the £400 - £700 price range as well.
Philips 32PHT5505/12 32-inch smart TV: £170 £155 at Amazon

The best Amazon Prime Day audio deals
From super cheap JBL and Sony headphones to then-recently released Samsung Galaxy Buds, last year's Amazon Prime Day deals were serving audiophiles well. We saw some record low prices on AirPods Pro and some reliable discounts on older models like the Bose QuietComfort 35 II returning as well.
This year we're expecting a few more price cuts on the new Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones as well as the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro.
JBL Tune 600 BTNC: £79.99 £48.13 at Amazon
A super cheap, but still pretty powerful, pair of noise cancelling headphones will rarely be on sale for under £50. However, you could find the JBL Tune 600 BTNC headphones available for £48 with this deal.
Jabra Elite 75T: £169 £129 at Amazon
The Jabra Elite 75T are currently one of our top picks for best wireless earbuds. They offer an impressive 7 hours battery life on a single charge, a compact case and an app that lets you customize the EQ. While they aren't going to compete with the top choices for sound they're certainly impressive - bass heads might just want to look elsewhere.
Beats Solo 3: £179.95 £129 at Amazon
With Apple's W1 chip, a 40 hour battery life, and a lightweight fit, iOS users will love the Beats Solo 3, but Android users can also get in on the action - especially with a £50 discount.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live: £179 £130 at Amazon
The (then) brand new Samsung Galaxy Buds Live were on sale for £130 at Amazon in last year's Prime Day deals. That was the lowest price we'd seen on these bad boys then, but we've since seen them drop to £119.
Beats Solo Pro: £269.95 £189 at Amazon
You could save £80 on the Beats Solo Pro in last year's Amazon Prime Day deals. With the H1 chip inside for reliable pairing to Apple products, active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and 22 hours of battery, there's some serious power inside as well.
Bose QuietComfort 35 II: £259 £209.99 at Amazon
This is the lowest price we've seen on the Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones - so it proved popular among fans of what Bose can offer (and sonically, it's a lot). These headphones are also Alexa-enabled for easy chats to your smart home.
Sony WH-1000XM3: £260 £238.79 at Amazon
Hello, old friends. These once-unbeatable headphones had been usurped by the newer 1000XM4 models, but that meant the older generation was seeing some great discounts. This wasn't the cheapest we've seen them, but it was around £15 off.
The best Amazon Prime Day iPad deals
