Los Angeles is best known as the entertainment capital of the world, but there's much more to the sprawling city than just that. This cozy, charming, and historic apartment is found in one of Venice's original Craftsman houses, built in 1910. Located less than half a block from the Venice boardwalk, you can't beat that location for access to the beach, biking, skating, coffee shops, restaurants. The home even comes with vintage beach cruiser bicycles, a surfboard, a boogie board, a skateboard, two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach towels, and blankets to enjoy it all.

Though the listing has extra sleeping space via a sofa bed, it's best for couples or small families. The home has a dreamy feel to it, with a mostly white design that's accented via a blue wall in the kitchen and orange and blue pillows and throws. A pale blue clawfoot tub from 1910 nods to the home's roots. Coveted parking (tandem) for two cars seals the seal.

FAQs

When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?

Los Angeles gets hot in the summer, which makes it an ideal time to visit for travelers hoping to hit the beach. Prime summer weather often stretches into fall, offering beach weather through November or later, and flights and stays can often be found for lower rates during September.

While winter and spring are still warm compared to snowy areas up North, don't expect to be sunning yourself in a bikini. The average high in January, for example, is 69 degrees Fahrenheit, so pack plenty of layers.

Where should I stay in LA?

Each LA neighborhood has its own distinct personality and flair. The best area to stay in L.A. will depend on what you want to do. First-timers and those looking for the quintessential L.A. experience may want to stay right near Hollywood. Similarly, you'll want to be Downtown if you're hoping to take advantage of L.A.'s nightlife and its premier restaurants.

For luxury stays and high-end shopping, consider Beverly Hills and Malibu. However, to be close to the beach, you'll want to be in areas like Santa Monica and Venice.

What is there to do in LA?

LA offers something for every type of traveler, from museums and hikes to clubbing and world-class dining.

Santa Monica Pier, shopping on Rodeo Drive, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and posing with the Hollywood Sign are all tourist favorites. The Griffith Observatory offers incredible city views, plus a great planetarium. Other museums not to miss include The Getty, The Broad, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

For those ready to hit the beach, there are numerous choices, but Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice, Huntington, and Redondo are some of the most popular.
