Jordan's King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania will self-isolate for five days after the country's Crown Prince Hussein tested positive for COVID-19, the nation's palace announced Monday.

Both the king and the queen tested negative for COVID-19 and are going into quarantine for precautionary measures, Reuters reported.

The palace said Prince Hussein was vaccinated against the coronavirus and was showing "mild symptoms and is in very good health."

Over the last year, 27-year-old Hussein has been in the country's political spotlight with his father more recently, the report said.

Jordan was the center of turmoil during the spring after the country accused the king's half-brother of plotting to destabilize the country in a coup, leading to a string of arrests, Insider previously reported.
